About Me

Making the decision to begin the counselling process can be a challenging one - where do you start? I offer a safe, welcoming space where you can take the first step towards a better understanding of what is going on in your life.

I believe that counselling is a collaborative process in which we work together on what you would like to change, or maybe you would like to have a better understanding of what is going on in your life. I will support you by:

  • finding ways to deal with uncomfortable thoughts and feelings
  • helping you to explore any worries or anxieties in a non-judgmental setting
  • identifying aspects of your life that are causing confusion
  • reflecting on your past to make sense of the present

Depression, anxiety and low self-esteem often result from how we learnt to cope when our needs were not properly met at different stages of life. I offer an integrative approach where we work side-by-side to understand and accept past ways of coping and enable you to have choices. Integrative therapy uses a blend of different therapeutic approaches to suit the uniqueness of each individual – one size does not fit all!

Counselling is mainly a talking therapy, but occasionally I may introduce visual and creative exercises as these can often enable you to more safely express difficult thoughts and feelings and develop greater self-awareness.

I have a particular interest in how our emotional states impact on our physical health and well-being, having trained as a homeopath and practising for several years until I decided to train as a counsellor. In addition, I am a Reiki practitioner having trained in both Usui and Angelic Reiki.

I work within the limits of my training; if I feel I am unable to help you personally, I will aim to provide you with information to take the next step.

If you would like more information about me and how I work, please phone me on the number listed above.
